ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Senior
Accountant to join our team with Dilawri Group of Companies - National. The
successful candidate is someone who is passionate about the automotive industry
and eager to contribute to our growing team.
Key Responsibilities:
· Full cycle accounting including month end and year end close processes,
journal entries, invoicing, bank and general ledger reconciliations
·
In addition to
non-dealership accounting you would be helping out our centralized national
purchasing company, and preparing quarter end dealership working paper
templates
·
Accounts receivable and
accounts payable oversight and review
·
Balance sheet schedule
maintenance
·
Prepare third party
quarterly and year end reporting
·
Responsible for the accuracy
and timeliness of financial information
·
Support and assist junior
accounting staff with daily tasks and duties
·
Prepare manufacturer
financial statements
·
Understanding of internal
controls and their importance
·
Expense and inventory
analysis
·
Assist with yearend
financial statement audit requests
·
Set up and maintain
information reports for senior management
·
Process, review and analyze
payroll; focus on discrepancies and taxable deductions
·
Ensure all standard
accounting policies, procedures and controls are consistently and accurately
applied
ABOUT YOU
- Minimum
5+ years' experience of senior accounting within management, investment
and real estate companies.
- Fully
understand the monthly accounting cycle and be proficient in accounting
year ends.
- University
degree in Business/Accounting
- Canadian professional accounting designation (Chartered Professional Accountant) or working towards a Canadian designation is considered an asset but not required
- Advanced
knowledge of MS Office. Proficient in excel at a high level (macros and
lookups)
- Demonstrated
knowledge and understanding of accounting policies and procedures
- Excellent
level of communication and relationship building skills to develop strong
working partnerships with team members and management
- Strong
organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
- Ability
to be efficient and effective while working independently and within a
team
- Able
to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines
