Position Overview 

Vancouver Honda is currently seeking a Lube Technician to join our Service Department. Reporting to the Service Manager and Shop Foreman, the Lube Technician plays an important role in delivering high-quality vehicle maintenance services and supporting the overall efficiency of the service team.

The successful candidate will perform routine maintenance procedures, conduct vehicle inspections, and assist technicians with a variety of automotive service tasks. This role is ideal for an individual who is passionate about the automotive industry, takes pride in delivering quality workmanship, and is looking to develop a long-term career in automotive service.

The expected pay for this position is $23.59 per hour.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities 

•  Perform oil and filter changes according to manufacturer specifications and dealership standards.
• Inspect, top up, and replace automotive fluids including coolant, brake fluid, transmission fluid, and windshield washer fluid.
• Check, adjust, and maintain proper tire pressure.
• Perform tire rotations, mounting, balancing, and seasonal tire changeovers.
• Conduct multi-point vehicle inspections and accurately document findings.
• Replace vehicle batteries, test charging systems, and ensure proper installation.
• Replace windshield wiper blades and inspect related components.
• Replace and test exterior lighting components, including headlights, taillights, and signal lamps.
• Assist with the removal and installation of exhaust system components as required.
• Support minor interior and exterior trim repairs and replacements.
• Assist in identifying and addressing common vehicle concerns such as water leaks and basic maintenance issues.
• Maintain accurate repair orders and communicate inspection results to Service Advisors and senior technicians.
• Operate shop equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to dealership and manufacturer procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance technical skills.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications Required 

·         Automotive service experience, apprenticeship experience, or automotive technical training preferred.

·         High school diploma or equivalent.

·         Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

·         Basic knowledge of automotive systems, maintenance procedures, and repair practices.

·         Experience operating tire mounting, balancing, and fluid service equipment is considered an asset.

·         Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new skills.

·         Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

·         Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

·         Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

·         Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks, including standing, bending, and working in varying shop conditions.

·         Commitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship, and customer satisfaction.

·         Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

·         Legally entitled to work in Canada.
